Mariam Garifianova, L.Ac, graduated from Kazan Medical University in Russia with a Doctor of Medicine degree in 1983.  She completed her Residency in Acupuncture in 1989 and her Doctor of Philosophy in Neurology in 1997 at Kazan Post-Graduate Medical Academy in Russia.  In 2001, she obtained her Master of Acupuncture from the Northwest Institute for Acupuncture in Seattle, Washington.

She specializes in women’s health and pain management, interest in the latter of which lead to her career as an acupuncturist.

Mariam has been a member of the International Association for Study of Pain (IASP) since 1996.
